Roland Filehner on the podium for the first time this season

Roland Fischler's triumph was only stopped in the final. There the Austrian local hero Andreas Prommegger put a stop to him and won with an advantage of eleven hundredths. The final, like all other knockout heats, was completed in a single trip for the first time in World Cup history.

“I'm very happy that I got along well with this new rule. The FIS has finally shown courage and is trying to increase the attractiveness,” is the first conclusion from Roland Fischnelller, who is happy about his 19th podium finish in the World Cup: “I made a small mistake in the final, it was against my strong one opponent decisive. Let's see how things go in the old mode on Saturday. In addition to Prommegger, I also have to be careful of Aaron March, who showed strong form today.”

As in Carezza, March had to admit defeat to Fiwickeler. This time the Sterzinger was eliminated against his roommate from Villnößertal in the quarter-finals. Roland Filehner then continued his winning streak in the semi-finals against the Slovenian Kosir.

March, who achieved the third-fastest time in qualifying, finished the competition in fifth place, while Meinhard Erlacher finished 16th. The other South Tyroleans Christoph Mick and Edwin Coratti also failed in the qualification, as did Andrea Christine Tribus and Nadya Ochner in the women's category.
