Snowboarder completely unleashed: Coratti celebrates next victory!

Immediately after Marc Hofer's sensational debut victory Edwin Coratti added another in the parallel giant slalom in Rogla. The 30-year-old from Langtaufers took the win and celebrated his third podium finish in five days. When Hofer won on Saturday he was second on the podium, and 24 hours later he was riding with Nadya Ochner in the mixed team competition also in second place. Coratti celebrated his fourth World Cup victory at the finish, three of which he has now achieved in Rogla.

Coratti already proved in the qualification that the slope in the small winter sports resort in northern Slovenia was tailor-made for him. He qualified for the knockout phase with the best time. There he left behind his teammate Maurizio Bormolini, Fabian Obmann from Austria and the South Korean Sangho Lee. In the final he then competed against Poland's Oskar Kwiatkowski, who had never won a World Cup race. And it was to stay that way, because the Upper Vinschger had to push himself to his absolute limit on the actually faster red course, but ultimately won with a lead of 14 hundredths.

The podium was completed by Slovenian local hero Tim Mastnak, who also won the small crystal ball for the discipline ranking with third place. Fischlerler is in fifth place Except for Coratti, all South Tyroleans missed out on making it to the semi-finals. Roland Filehner, who eliminated Aaron March in the round of 25, had to give up in the quarter-finals and ended up in fifth place. The other Azzurri had already failed before, including Hofer (28th), Daniele Bagozza (44th), Fabian Lantschner (55th) and Gabriel Messner (XNUMXth). They were eliminated in qualifying.

Ramona Hofmeister landed the big coup among women. She won both the race and the small crystal ball. The German pushed past the Russian Sofiya Nadyrshina, who was not eligible to start, in the last parallel giant slalom of the season.

For Nadya Ochner (21st) and Jasmin Coratti (22nd) it was already the end of the line in qualifying. But 24-year-old Lucia Dalmasso from Falcade made people sit up and take notice with her best career result in fifth place.
