Four weeks left until the Snowboard World Cup

Nova Levante has a long tradition of hosting sporting events. The community in the Eggental has already been the venue for several men's and women's European Ski Cup races, World Cup races and the Junior World Championships in grass skiing, natural track tobogganing competitions and also European Cup races in snowboarding. At the beginning of December you reach completely new dimensions at the foot of the rose garden.

On Friday, December 2nd, the snowboarder's World Cup weekend will be kicked off with the big opening ceremony. The best “board riders” in the world come to South Tyrol to choose the winners in the parallel disciplines after the start in Landgraaf (Netherlands). Saturday, December 3rd will be dedicated to the parallel giant slalom for men and women on the Pra di Tori slope. One day later, on Sunday, December 4th, the parallel slalom will take place. Here, too, there is first qualification for men and women before the exciting final takes place in the knockout system.

South Tyrolean snowboarder in the role of favorite Eight South Tyrolean snowboarders will also be taking part. And they even slip into the role of favorites. At the first World Cup race of the season in Landgraaf, Roland Fiwickeler won the parallel slalom, while Aaron March came second. And with the top placings of Meinhard Erlacher (fourth) and local hero Christoph Mick (tenth), the “Azzurri” confirmed that they have long been among the world's best and will be a force to be reckoned with on home soil. “These successes were of course great advertising for our World Cup races in Carezza. I hope our snowboarders can achieve a similarly strong result at their home race,” says OC boss Andreas Obkircher.

Junior world champion Edwin Coratti completes the men's squad. Among the women, Nadya Ochner – she also shone with a fourth place in Landgraaf –, Andrea Tribus and Nathalie Egger are at the start.

The OK team for the World Cup stage in Carezza is currently working at full speed to ensure that the event in the municipality of Nova Levante is a complete success. “Now it's mainly about sorting out the finer details. Because we have already done the preparatory work. It starts in a month and we can hardly wait for the World Cup to start,” says Andreas Obkircher. All that's missing is the snow, but the OC chief is confident that the white base will work soon. “We are prepared for anything, too much snow, not enough snow. I don’t see any problems here – provided it gets cold enough.”

Great supporting program

Spectators in Carezza are not only offered top-class sport, but also a rich supporting program with lots of music and shows. On Friday after the opening ceremony, which will begin at 18 p.m., the band “Queen Laurin” will play from 19.30:21 p.m. to XNUMX p.m., before the party band “Opus” will perform afterwards. “The Lights” then set the mood at the after-show party. “The live performance by Opus will certainly be one of the highlights of our supporting program. But the other acts can also be seen and heard. There are also a few surprises. Like a fashion show, for example,” says Obkircher, looking at the cards.

On Saturday the torpedoes will transform the marquee into a cauldron at the After World Cup Party from 20 p.m. The award ceremony and start number allocation will take place beforehand. But the celebration starts in the afternoon from 15 p.m. at the apres-ski party and the burn party. On Sunday, however, the South Tyrol 1 party with Dj Fill takes place, while the OK team invites you to the World Cup breakfast in the tent from 8 a.m. on both competition days.
