Sporthilfe: Support checks for young winter sports talents

This time, the Südtiroler Sparkasse Foundation, as a major sponsor of the Mals sports high school and the South Tyrolean Sports Aid, is providing the main part of the funding amount with 15.000 euros and these funding checks were presented directly to the sports high school students by the president of the foundation, Konrad Bergmeister.

Many guests of honor from sports, politics and business accepted Sporthilfe's invitation and, in coordination with the Corona rules, gave the South Tyrolean Sporthilfe's promotional work even greater importance. Many sports officials such as VSS chairman Günther Andergassen, FISI President Markus Ortler and USSA board member Pietro Bruschi also accepted the invitation and celebrated the start of school and training with the athletes present.

Every year, the South Tyrolean Sporthilfe, as a non-profit association, looks forward to making it easier for young South Tyrolean athletes to practice sports by providing a financial subsidy. The focus is on both performance criteria and social/family criteria. Sporthilfe also considers partnerships with large South Tyrolean companies to be very important, as the athletes supported get to know the companies better and learn to appreciate their support.

Giovanni Podini, President of Sporthilfe, thanked the Sparkasse Foundation, Sparkassen AG and, above all, the state of South Tyrol for the necessary, but not self-evident, support and in his remarks underlined the Sparkasse's commitment to South Tyrolean sport in general and in the Sports aid in particular. The director of the sports high school, Werner Oberthaler, was pleased with the many words of praise and thanked him very much for the support, which the sports high school and its students currently need even more, and emphasized his hope for a somewhat “normal” school year 2020-2021.
