VIDEO | Almost 65.000 euros to young winter athletes

Every year, Südtiroler Sporthilfe looks forward to making it easier for young South Tyrolean athletes to practice sports through a financial subsidy. The focus is on both performance criteria and social/family criteria. In addition, Sporthilfe considers partnerships with large South Tyrolean companies to be very important, as the sponsored athletes get to know the companies better through a company introduction and learn to appreciate their support.

Cellina von Mannstein from the Forst Brewery was enthusiastic about the great achievements of the young talents. “Sport has always been and is an important area of support in the history of the brewery. Supporting young sporting talents and their dreams through the great work of Südtiroler Sporthilfe means a lot to me, but it is also a matter of the heart because it allows us to invest in the dreams and future of young aspiring people! We are already looking forward to keeping our fingers crossed for you at big races in the near future.”

Keynote speech by Alexander Gardetto The Marteller Alexander Gardetto, now medical director of the Brixsana private clinic, was supported by the Südtiroler Sporthilfe as a young ski racer in 1988 and 1989 and, after two serious injuries, concentrated on his “career afterwards” and studied medicine. Dr. Gardetto gave an impressive lecture on the topic “Sport as a driving force for a successful career afterwards” to the sponsored athletes and guests of honor and at the same time promoted dual training in sports.

Giovanni Podini, President of Sporthilfe, thanked the Forst Brewery for the invitation and the great hospitality and is looking forward to perhaps being able to celebrate a major title together in a few years for the young athletes present today.

VIDEO | Almost 65.000 euros to young winter athletes

At the South Tyrolean Sporthilfe handover ceremony on Wednesday in the Forst brewery in Algund, funding checks worth 64.700 euros were presented. 48 successful winter athletes from 14 disciplines will benefit from funding.
