These winter sports highlights are waiting for South Tyrol

Val Gardena, Alta Badia, Carezza – the South Tyrolean winter sports classics of the international ski association FIS will also be represented in the World Cup calendars of various sports in the coming season. Dominik Paris & Co. will be making a guest appearance at the Saslong on December 16th and 17th, before traditionally heading to Alta Badia. The South Tyrolean skiers are looking forward to the home World Cup at Kronplatz, which will take place there from January 22nd to 24th.

Carezza (snowboard) and San Candido (ski cross) are also fixed dates in their respective sports. And so the calendar of South Tyrolean winter sports fans will be pretty busy before Christmas, because the World Cup event will take place at the Karerpass on December 15th and 17th, while San Candido will be the venue for the FIS World Cup a week later. By the way: With Alleghe there is another azure World Cup station for ski crossers. Antholz as a big highlight The biggest spectacle is on the program in January. The Biathlon World Cup in Antholz should (finally) take place again with spectators. Dorothea Wierer & Co. will be visiting South Tyrol from January 19th to 22nd. The cross-country skiing World Cup is also returning to South Tyrol after a season break. From February 3rd to 5th, 2023, three World Cup races will take place in Toblach. The World Cup in Toblach is not part of the Tour de Ski this time, but races take place here not far from the South Tyrolean borders: the start of the New Year in Val Müstair in Switzerland and the last 3 stages in Fiemme Valley. The spectacular finale up to Alpe Cermis traditionally takes place on January 3th.

The Nordic combined athletes and ski jumpers have to completely forego a home World Cup in Italy. Omar Visintin and the boardercrossers are not guests in South Tyrol, but there are two World Cup stages in the surrounding area, Cervinia (December 18th) and Cortina (January 28th). Summer is just around the corner, but the 2022/23 winter sports season is already casting its shadows. South Tyrolean fans can once again look forward to a top-class program of FIS World Cups, although there are also some compromises to be made.
