Kuzovlev and Tolokonina underline their dominance in Rabenstein

The final in front of around 500 visitors, who despite the current snow conditions in South Tyrol made the long journey to the ice tower in Rabenstein, was unbeatable in terms of excitement. Because Nikolai Kuzovlev, who was taken off the ice tower by the referees on his first attempt due to a technical error, does even better than Park in the second attempt. Kuzovlev, who was crowned combined world champion in Moscow in December and leads the World Cup standings, reached the end of the demanding route in 5.48 minutes.

An Asian woman also came in third, namely Shin's teammate and last year's winner Han Na Rai Song, who narrowly lost out to Irishwoman Eimir McSwiggan.

For Tolokonina, who triumphed in the highest competition series in ice climbing for the third time this season, it was the first victory in Rabenstein in difficult climbing as part of a World Cup. In 2011, the agile top athlete from Russia won the “Icefight”, the predecessor competition of the World Cup. Tolokonina's declaration of love to Rabenstein “I love Rabenstein.
