Luttach and Stegen win curling gold

At the Serie A Italian Curling Championship in the men's team game in the ice rink in St. Michael/Eppan, ESC Luttach I found it much more difficult this time than in previous years.

In the semi-final against Kaltern, Luttach had a lot of trouble to make it to the final. In the end, the Ahrntal team won with 2 bonus points against the Überetscher with 23:21. Pichl Gsies easily won the second semi-final against Eppan-Berg with 2 bonus points 13:44.

In the final, Luttach I beat SSV Pichl Gsies 33:24. Luttach I was thus able to successfully defend its Italian championship title in Serie A. It was already their 18th Italian championship title in Serie A. SV Kaltern won the bronze game against EV Eppan-Berg with 44:17.

After the play-off, Pichl Gsies was still in the lead with 44 points ahead of Luttach I (43), Kaltern (41), Eppan Berg (31), Teis (29) and Luttach II (27). Niederdorf, Naturns II and Stegen have been relegated to Serie B.

Stegen defeats Lana EV Stegen defeated defending champion EV Lana with 28:24 in the final for both women. It was her 4th Italian championship title in the women's team game on ice. In the small final for the bronze medal, EV Moritzing beat EV Eppan-Berg 46:16. The Pusterers secured gold.

The first 4 teams from the Italian championship have qualified for the men's and women's categories for the next European Cup for club teams, which SSV Naturns is organizing in November in the ice rinks in Meran and Latsch.
