Dietmar Noeckler He is probably the only South Tyrolean who has at least a small chance of winning a medal. He was there when Italy last won the World Cup relay in Toblach. It is not yet certain that Nöckler will also be part of the World Cup relay, but it is very likely. The veteran from Bruneck knows how to do it. In the team sprint he won 2 World Championship medals with Federico Pellegrino. Nöckler also starts the 50 km run on the last day of the World Cup.

Federico Sanfilippo Because she no longer had a fair chance in biathlon, she switched to cross-country skiing. The change seems to have been worth it. She is at the World Cup and that is already a success for her. Unfortunately, their strongest discipline, the sprint, is carried out in the classic style, which is not run in biathlon and therefore not trained. She will compete in the 10K run and relay as well as the team sprint, which will be held in skating style.

Lara Malsiner She was already on the podium in the World Cup and can also boast a 6th place this season, but a medal is still probably out of reach for the Val Gardena ski jumper. If everything goes perfectly, we could be in the top ten.

Jessica Malsiner Occasionally she has jumped better than her sister in the World Cup, but usually Lara is ahead in the family duel. Qualifying for the second round shouldn't be a problem in both individual competitions, the top 2 is definitely possible on a good day.

Alex Insam In the last competition before the World Championships, the Wolkensteiner delivered by far his best competition in the World Cup to date and jumped into the top ten for the first time. Maybe he can achieve a performance like that again at the World Cup, especially since he knows the ski jumps very well because the “Azzurri” train very often in Planica. However, his goal in the individual competitions is to qualify for the second round.

Aaron Kostner After a very difficult 2021/22 season, he has improved tremendously this winter and has been the best of his team in the World Cup so far. What also speaks for him is that he has always delivered strong performances in his previous two World Cup participations in Seefeld 2 and Oberstdorf 2019. If it works on the hills, he could also achieve a top ten place in the individual competitions.

Samuel Costa At 30 years old, he is a veteran and it is already his 7th World Championships. He has had major fluctuations in form this winter, which is why it is difficult to predict his World Cup chances. If he jumps well, he can go far forward, but he has rarely jumped well so far this season.

Daniela Dejori She has gotten back out of a dip in form and recently even won the Continental Cup. Her strength clearly lies in cross-country skiing. If she gets a good jump, a top 15 placement is possible, but the first training jumps on the normal hill were not exactly exciting.
