If the aim of the Ice Climbing World Cup is to climb the 15,50 meter high vertical ice wall as quickly as possible, then the Russian national anthem can be prepared for the subsequent award ceremony. For years, athletes from the largest country in the world have dominated speed climbing. It was no different on Saturday in Rabenstein. Four Russians qualified for the semi-finals in both the men's and women's categories.

The big favorite among the men was Anton Nemov, who is ahead in the speed ranking. And Nemov lived up to the high standards. First he eliminated Vladimir Kartashev in the semifinals.

In the final, Nemov lost out to his compatriot Anton Sukharev by 0,07 seconds in the first round, but took revenge in the re-run and still won the day in the end. Second victory for Feoktistova in Rabenstein In the women's category, Ekaterina Feoktistova had the upper hand. She won the duel against combined world champion Maria Tolokonina in the semi-finals and finally beat Valeriia Bogdan in the final. In the men's category, only last year's winner Mohammadreza Safdarian Korouyeh (Iran) and the Russian Aleksei Marshalov reached the top in both rounds. However, eight athletes achieved this feat among women, namely the Koreans Woonseon Shin and Han Na Rai Song, the Russians Maryam Filippova and Maria Tolokonina, the Swiss Sina Götz and Vivien Labarile, the Irish Eimir McSwiggan, and Enni Bertling from Finland.
