South Tyrol's World Cup classic: green light for fans

It has been clear since Tuesday evening that the competitions in Carezza, Val Gardena, Alta Badia and San Candido can take place with spectators participating. Safety for athletes, spectators and employees plays an extremely important role in the planning of the organizing committees.

The four South Tyrolean World Cup organizers had to tremble for a long time. But the green light came on Tuesday evening. The competitions on the Pra Di Tori slope in Carezza (Thursday 16 December), on the Saslong in Val Gardena (Friday 17 and Saturday 18 December), on the Gran Risa in Alta Badia (Sunday 19 . and Monday, December 20th), as well as at the Haunold in San Candido (Sunday, December 19th and Monday, December 20th), according to legal regulations and after the development of a strict safety protocol approved by the South Tyrolean medical company, the stage with an audience is allowed . Capacity utilization of 75 percent Spectators are allowed at the Snowboard World Cup on the Karerpass.

The relevant state decree stipulates that 75 percent of spectator capacity is permitted for outdoor sporting events. The 2G rule applies to all winter sports fans in the designated areas, meaning they must be vaccinated or have recovered. And masks are required throughout the competition area. The organizers, for their part, committed themselves to foregoing hospitality.

“We are pleased that our events can take place with spectator participation because they create a very special atmosphere. Of course, we would also have liked to welcome our partners in our hospitality areas. But it was clear to us that this was not feasible under the current circumstances. We are aware that we have a very great responsibility,” emphasize the South Tyrolean organizers.

Tickets for the Alpine Ski World Cups in Val Gardena and Alta Badia are available on the official websites of the two organizers and must be purchased or reserved online by anyone interested. Admission to the Karerpass and San Candido is free. Nevertheless, all spectators must present proof of 2G and wear a mask in the spectator areas, as required by the state decree and the developed safety protocol.
