Azzurre in Reischach: “Arrived with great enthusiasm”

The Italian women's national football team has been preparing for the upcoming World Cup in South Tyrol since Monday. Coach Milena Bertolini is satisfied with the first impressions from Reischach.

The starting signal for the 20 Women's Football World Cup will be given in New Zealand and Australia on July 2023th. Italy qualified and will face Argentina, Sweden and South Africa in Group A. The Azzurre have been preparing for the World Cup in Oceania in Reischach since Monday. With Katja Schroffenegger (Fiorentina) and Eva Schatzer (Juventus), two South Tyroleans are also there (SportNews has reported).

Bertolini nominated a total of 24 players. On Friday, the national coach will part ways with some players, because some young talents - including Schatzer - have also been nominated for the so-called first training camp phase. In addition, the professional players from Juventus and Roma are not yet there.

Eva Schatzer is currently in Reischach with the Italian national team.

Bertolini is very satisfied with the first impressions in Reischach, as she announced to the Italian Football Association FIGC: “The girls arrived with great enthusiasm. I will have difficulty nominating the final squad.” In the end, 23 players will take part in the World Cup for Italy. The Azzurre will be in Reischach until June 29th before heading to Ferrara for a friendly against Morocco (July 1st at 19 p.m.). The Italians will fly to New Zealand on July 5th.
