The Italian Cup is on the Ritten again

Coach Marty Raymond's team, which had to make do without Max Ploner and Patrick Rissmiller, got off to a dream start in the Milan cauldron and took the lead after just under four minutes through Dan Tudin. He overcame Milan goalie Alex Caffi with a simple pawn trick. However, the home side had the right answer and equalized a little later through Tommaso Terzago.

A game of equals developed, in which both teams appeared dangerously in front of the opponent's goal several times. Although Milan showed more offensive drive in the second half of the game, it was the Buam who took the lead again at the beginning of the final third. Ingemar Gruber hammered the disc into the net from the blue line after just 18 seconds of play. At this point, the South Tyroleans were operating with one more man on the ice.

Afterwards, Milan threw everything forward and ensured a thrilling final phase - until Luca Felicetti completed a counterattack in a curious way seven minutes before the end. His shot hit Caffi's shoulder and rolled over the line. Just 35 seconds later, Gruber made the decision with his second goal of the evening. Milan was able to immediately reduce the score to 2:4 thanks to David Vallorani, but the Lombards were no longer able to do more. The third cup triumph in the Rittner club's history was over and done with!

The Italian Cup is on the Ritten again

The Rittner Buam successfully defended the Italian Cup on Sunday evening. The team from the high plateau followed up their overtime victory in the semi-final against Pustertal with a 4-2 win against Milan and were crowned the new, old cup champions in the packed Agorà Stadium.
