Italy's first dress rehearsal takes place in Meran

Italy's squad for the upcoming B World Cup at home in Bolzano has caused a lot of discussion. Many ice hockey experts cannot fully understand the decision by Marco Zanetti and Pascal Brunner to forego the game, after all they will also be an important puzzle at the 2026 Olympics. Be that as it may, in the end, those in charge of Italy will have to be measured by success - i.e. promotion - at the World Cup in the 1st Division Group A.

On Tuesday the penultimate test match will take place in Meran against Hungary, which will also be in Bolzano. The Azzurri have won twice against the Hungarians at the end of 2023. On Wednesday we'll go back to Neumarkt (against South Korea) before the opener against Romania on Sunday.
