SKI JUMPING:
Austrian Stefan Kraft won the World Cup in Sapporo (Japan) on Saturday. It was his 9th overall World Cup success this season. Just behind him (only a measly 0,4 points behind) was local hero Ryoyu Kobayashi in second place, with the German Andreas Wellinger third (6,1 points behind). Worth mentioning: There are three Austrians in fourth to sixth place (Manuel Fettner, Daniel Tschofenig and Jan Hörl). The 51-year-old Noriaki Kasai (Japan), who qualified for the second round in 28th place, ran out of steam in the second competition. He was unable to repeat his sensational jump from the first round and ended up in 30th place.

However, the two “Azzurri” who qualified for the jumping on Saturday did not end up in the top 30. While Giovanni Bresadola ended up in 37th place, South Tyrolean Alex Insam, who had recently shown strong performances, did not get past 36th place.
