1:4 defeat in Linz: Bozen still without points

The game didn't start as expected for Bozen: after just eight minutes, the puck came to Brian Lebler after a through pass from Kirchschläger, who surprised Melichercik from a tight angle and gave Linz a 1-0 lead. Even after that, the Austrians had the better chances, but didn't act decisively enough in front of the Bolzano goal.

After the poor performance in the first third, coach Pat Curcio probably found the right words in the dressing room. Bozen came back onto the ice with more bite, but Halmo only hit the post after three minutes. But postponement is not canceled - and so a little later it was Bozen's last-minute newcomer who got a free shot and scored the equalizer (35th). But the joy was short-lived: 128 seconds after the equalizer, Piche took heart, shot from the blue line and gave Melichercik the disadvantage.

Shortly after the last third break, things got even worse for the Foxes: After fine preparatory work by Piche, DaSilva flicked the puck with feeling over Melichercik's shoulder to make it 3-1 for Linz (43'). Bozen then defended itself against the impending defeat and came very close to scoring the next goal in a fracas after 45 minutes - but Linz was too hardened in the end and brought about the decision with Kirchschläger.

The start was not a success for the Curcio troops. The Foxes have the opportunity to make amends on Friday when Dornbirn comes into the ice wave.

1:4 defeat in Linz: Bozen still without points

The start of the new EBEL season was unsuccessful for HCB Südtirol Alperia: After the 3:5 opening defeat against Innsbruck on Friday, there was nothing to gain in Linz either. In the end the Foxes had to admit defeat 1:4.
