4:2 win: The Foxes break the Dornbirn taboo

The HCB offered a clear performance both defensively and offensively. The guests made their ambitions clear right from the start of the game when they put their opponents under pressure straight away and were rewarded with the opening goal in the 16th minute: Travis Oleksuk, positioned behind the goal, played the ball to HCB top scorer Brodie Reid, who just had to push in more.

Both teams continued at a high pace in the second third. However, the Foxes still had the upper hand and consequently increased the score in the 25th minute through Marc-Olivier Vallerand. The former Eppan striker completed a counterattack with a shot into the top corner. However, the white and red hunger for goals was far from tamed, as just five minutes later Anton Bernard converted a pass from Markus Gander to make it 3-0. Stroj then replaced the unfortunate Hardy in the Dornbirn goal and suddenly things went better for the home team. They got within 1:3 thanks to a power play goal from Dustin Sylvester.

The Bulldogs' hopes were definitely dashed after the last break: Jesse Root passed behind the goal to the free-standing Daniel Frank, who scored 1:4 for the Foxes. This was the second goal of the season for the in-form South Tyrolean. Chris D'Alvise only made the result cosmetic in the final phase with the 2:4; Bolzano's first victory in Dornbirn after seven defeats in a row was already sealed at this point.

HCB Südtirol Alperia has only won in Dornbirn once in the club's history. On Tuesday evening, the three-year losing streak came to an end with a convincing 4-2 win. The people of Bolzano climbed back to fourth place in the table before Thursday's home game against KAC.
