AHL: Neumarkt in 7th place after win in Val Gardena – Pustertal beats Asiago

In the Pranives ice stadium in Wolkenstein, the “Wildgänse” initially took the lead 2-0 and 4-1, but allowed the home team to close it to 3-4, making things exciting again. It was only in the last minutes of the game that Neumarkt's Radovan Gabri and Michael Sullmann made the decision with goals to make the final score 6:3. While the Unterlanders remain close to the top six in the table thanks to the away win, Val Gardena has to look more and more backwards: the Ladins are only four points away from the bottom of the rankings.

The “Wolves” retained the upper hand 2-1 in the difficult away game against Asiago and thus remain in contact with leaders Ritten. In the Odegar Stadium, HCP captain Armin Helfer was the match winner: the veteran contributed the decisive Puster goal to make it 2-1 seven minutes before the end.

The badly battered WSV Vipiteno celebrated its second win of the season on Saturday evening. The Wipptalers defeated Cortina 2-1 and handed over the “red lantern” to INL champions Bregenzerwald. Attacker Tobias Kofler scored the extra point in the game against the Ampezzan team in the third minute of extra time.

Seven games were played in the Sky Alps Hockey League on Saturday evening. From a South Tyrolean perspective, in addition to the local derby between Val Gardena and Neumarkt, the focus was also on the duel between Asiago and Pustertal.
