AHL: Vipiteno sends Neumarkt home with a pack

The encounter between the Wipptalers and the Unterlandlers degenerated into a one-sided affair. The “Wild Horses” gave the Ekrt team no chance and celebrated a whopping 7-2 win. Thanks to their second win in a row, the Broncos remain close to eighth place - the young team from Neumarkt, on the other hand, has long since disappeared into the no man's land of the table.

At the top of the rankings, leader Ritten has returned to winning ways. The reigning champions, who recently suffered defeat twice, beat Cortina 4-3 after a penalty shootout. Against the unpleasant Ampezzan team, Victor Ahlström sank the decisive penalty and thus secured the additional point for the “Buam”.

HC Pustertal was also able to celebrate a victory on Thursday evening. Unlike the Rittners, the “Wolves” even scored the full three points. The Puster team had a hard time with table laggard Fassa for a long time before they turned up the heat in the last quarter of an hour and secured a clear 6-2 win. Thanks to the “threesome”, Armin Helfer and Co. defended fifth place.

The evening was less successful for HC Gherdeina: the Ladins fought a tough battle with Asiago, second in the table, in which no fewer than eleven goals were scored. In the end, the “Furie” narrowly had to admit defeat 5:6 and remain in 14th place.
