Everyone is looking forward to the Metropolitan debut

Glen Metropolit played 437 games in the best league in the world, plus 275 appearances in the elite series in Switzerland, 125 in Finland and 107 games in the German DEL. On Friday evening, the ice hockey globetrotter will also compete in the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League. He will wear number 50 in the championship game against Orli Znojmo. The HCB fans - more than 200 of whom have already attended Metropolit's first training session in the ice wave - will be excited about Pokel's decision as to which line the star purchase will now line up with.

However, Friday's opponents can also rely on a prominent newcomer, namely returnee Colton Yellow Horn, who led the Czechs to the championship final as top scorer last season. Things are going less smoothly for Znojmo in the current season: after two recent defeats en suite, they are only ranked ninth in the rankings.

The HCB, on the other hand, will try to sustain the overtime victory against the dethroned leaders from Vienna and defend fourth place even after the ten-day championship break. The Foxes' next home game against HC Innsbruck is scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
