Alperia Cup: Ritten defeats Pustertal 3-0

Both Ritten and Pustertal competed on Sunday evening with weakened substitutes. As on Friday, coach Lehtonen had to do without three defenders: Brad Cole, who will not join the team until October, as well as the long-term injured Maximilian Ploner and Andreas Alber. The injured Alexander Eisath was also missing. The “Wolves”, however, rested their new signing Eric Pance, while Sean Ringrose has not yet arrived in Brunico.

On Thursday against HC Bozen On Thursday, August 31st, the Rittners will meet EBEL representatives HC Bozen Südtirol in the second match of the “Alperia Cup” in Klobenstein. This result also counts for the “Rittner Tournament”, which takes place from August 31st to September 2nd. In addition to the two traditional South Tyrolean clubs, the Fischtown Pinguins from the DEL and the two-time Swiss champions EHC Visp Lions will also be playing. On September 2nd, Ritten will play either the final or the game for third place in the four-person tournament.

Just three days later, the German second division team SC Riessersee comes to Klobenstein. This is also the last acid test with regard to the start of the AHL season on September 13th in Laibach.

Alperia Cup: Ritten defeats Pustertal 3-0

After the opening 2:9 defeat against Ravensburg on Friday, AHL and Italian champions Ritten celebrated their first win of the season on Sunday evening in Klobenstein: The “Buam” clearly defeated league rivals HC Pustertal 3-0 in the opening game of the Alperia Cup.
