Unterland with one leg in the master round

The game in Neumarkt started very evenly, with the guests being able to create the first opportunities, especially when they were in the majority. In the 7th minute, the South Tyroleans almost took a 1-0 lead after the Austrians lost the puck in front of their own goal, but the puck didn't find its way into the net. A few seconds later, Zell am See did better and took the lead 1-0. From now on the hosts were the better team and were able to equalize just 90 seconds later through Santeri Haarala.

Another 5 minutes later, Haarala played a dream pass to the free-standing Miro Markkula, who just had to push in. Although the league newcomers remained the better team on the field, the guests were able to equalize out of nowhere in the 18th minute and even take the lead again 60 seconds later.

The second half of the game was much more even, with the South Tyroleans immediately equalizing. As the game continued, the penalties on both sides increased, so the team that was allowed to have the majority took turns dominating. In the 27th minute, Maximilian Sölva broke through on the right and gave the home team the lead again. When the Cavaliers had to play 3-on-5 and then 3-on-4 towards the end of the second period, the Austrians were able to exploit this advantage and make it 4-4 in the last minute.

The final third developed into an up and down affair. Both teams created opportunities to score the decisive goal of the game, but the two goalkeepers put in a strong performance and initially didn't let anything go. After several power plays on both sides, the South Tyroleans managed to take advantage of their last power play of the game. Haarala decided the match 13 seconds before the end with a shot from the left side.

Fury with trembling victory HC Gherdëina met the Steel Wings from Linz away. In the first half of the game, the Val Gardena team couldn't get into the game at all and were overrun by the Austrians at times. Thanks to a confident Colin Furlong it was still 20-0 after 0 minutes.

In the second third the South Tyroleans woke up from hibernation and shortly after half time Matteo Luisetti gave the HCG a 1-0 lead. The visitors equalized in the 34th minute, but a brace from Kyle Gibbons restored Val Gardena's lead. When Brad McGowan made it 3-4 while outnumbered at the start of the third period, the game seemed over, but the young Austrians fought their way back into the game and reduced the score to 1-50 by the 3th minute. However, it was the evening of Gibbons and McGowan, who were able to build a reassuring lead of 4:6 (Linz reduced the score to 4:4 in the meantime). In the last few minutes, the Val Gardena defense held, so the encounter ended in a narrow victory.

Ritten with peat festival The Rittner Buam also faced the Lions from Lustenau away from home. The host was able to take the lead in the 2nd minute, but the Rittners had the right answer ready and equalized in the 5th minute through Marco Insam. Shortly before the end of the first period, the Lustenauers were able to take the lead again and took advantage of a power play.

From the second third onwards, the Buam went one better, first equalizing through Cardwell and then taking the lead through Spinell. When Insam scored goals number 4 and 5 in the last third (Insam scored three times that evening), the game seemed over, but the Voralberg team didn't give up and reduced the score to 55:4 by the 5th minute. However, the final point in this encounter came from Markus Spinell and Jakob Prast, who made the final score 7:4.

Meran does well for 40 minutes HC Meran had to play away at number 1 in the Alps Hockey League Jesenice. The Eagles held their own for 40 minutes, but in the final part of the game the South Tyroleans' reserves of strength diminished and the Merano team ultimately had to admit defeat 5-0. The disaster began in the 43rd minute, followed by Zan Jezovsek's big show, who scored 4 goals within 15 minutes and made the final score 5-0. Another match day in the AlpsHL was on the program on Saturday. While Unterland (5:4), Val Gardena (6:4) and Ritten (7:4) were able to record victories, Merano suffered a defeat against the table leaders from Jesenice.
