The Supercup final will take place on Wednesday, September 21st

The Supercup traditionally opens the new season in Italian ice hockey. The champions and the cup winners from the previous season, who will determine the winner of the trophy in a single game, are eligible to participate.

On the one hand, as mentioned, this would be Supermercati Migross Asiago, which recently won two championship titles in a row and is now fighting for the Supercup for the fifth time in the club's history. After two defeats against Milan, the team from Veneto won the coveted trophy for the first time in 2003. Even then, Milan was the opponent. Vitalijs Galuzo scored the decisive goal for a 1-0 win. Last year too, Asiago was in the final of the Supercup, but they lost out to Ritten in front of their home crowd.

The Fiat Professional Wolves, however, are entering completely new territory on Wednesday: the South Tyrolean Serie A club has never been in the Supercup final. The Pustertal team's debut will be sweetened by the fact that they will be fighting to win the cup for the first time in front of their own fans. At HC Pustertal, only Nate DiCasmirro has Supercup experience. In September 2008 he contributed two goals to HC Bozen's title win against Pontebba. The Wolves won the first trophy in their club history last season when they won the Italian Cup with a 6-1 win in the final against Ritten. As luck would have it, the HCP lost in the final of the last Serie A championship to the team from Asiago. The innovations of the two teams

Supermercati Migross Asiago The two-time Italian champion wants to continue to be at the top of Italian ice hockey in the future. In order for this endeavor to be successful; Asiago has strengthened its team again compared to last season. The confirmed coaching staff around Coach John Tucker can continue to rely on top performers Borrelli, Ulmer, Michael Henrich and Vigilante in the future. Jeff Leg and Anthony Grieco are expected to compensate for the departure of goalkeeper Daniel Bellissimo. The team was enriched by the signings of Drew Fata and Matt MacDonald. They will form the defense together with Strazzabosco, the up-and-coming Miglioranzi and new signing Marchetti. In addition to the numerous confirmed players, the team from the high plateau will rely on the two 25-year-olds Sean Bentivoglio and Jason Pitton in the attack next season. FIAT Professional Wolves After last season's success, in which HC Pustertal ultimately narrowly missed the championship title, Bruneck is trying to form a powerful team for the upcoming season. The team has so far only been strengthened with three targeted new additions. In defense, Marek Posmyk, who was signed by Cortina, had to give up his place again after disappointing test match appearances. He was replaced by Canadian Olivier Magnan, who made 18 appearances in the NHL last season. Meanwhile, ex-HCB striker Giulio Scandella and veteran David Ling, who will make his debut in the yellow and black jersey in the Supercup on Wednesday, will strengthen the Bruneck team's attack. There are also two new faces behind the gang: Teppo Kivela has been promoted from assistant coach to head coach and is therefore following in Stefan Mair's footsteps. Marko Allen is at his side. The club management also entrusts the space between the posts to a Finn, namely Mikko Strömberg, who represented goalkeeper Nikkilä at the end of last season. Tickets for the Supercup final are available from Friday, September 16th to Wednesday, September 21st at the Hockeybar Bruneck and at Optik Mariner in Bruneck. The remaining quota will be sold at the box office on Wednesday from 19 p.m. Asiago fans can reserve tickets for the guest area at the club headquarters.
