Away win in Fehervar: The HCB ends its series of bankruptcies

HCB coach Tom Pokel had to do without the suspended Markus Gander and the injured Daniel Frank in Hungary. That's why the coach was forced to make some changes in the attack and had defensive man Alex Gellert play on the offensive. At the start of the game there was very little going forward – in both rows. Fehervar then took the lead with the first real chance to score: after a pass from Sagert, Sarauer scored with a hammer to give the home team the lead. Significant opportunities remained scarce in the minutes that followed. Both teams went into the first third break with the score 1-0 in favor of the Hungarians.

Less than four minutes had been played in the second half when Marchetti brought the HCB back into the game with a well-aimed shot. But just a few moments Fehervar went back in front with a Koger shot. However, the “Foxes” were by no means impressed by the new deficit - on the contrary: in the middle third, the Bolzano team made it 2-2 with one more man on the ice. The often-maligned Nick Palmieri contributed this goal. Afterwards, Egger and Co. became increasingly stronger, but failed to convert their superiority into goals.

The final third began for the HCB with a tricky 3:5 situation that lasted a full two minutes. However, the people of Bolzano survived being twice outnumbered unscathed and a little later had the pleasure of having two more men on the ice. The Pokel team didn't miss this chance and took the lead for the first time that evening thanks to Vallerand. The remaining minutes saw the white-red team overtime and finally made everything clear in the final minute: Oleksuk made it 4-2 with a shot into the empty goal, thus perfecting the Foxes' deserved away win.

Away win in Fehervar: The HCB ends its series of bankruptcies

After three defeats in a row, HCB Südtirol got back on track on Saturday evening in the Erste Bank Eishockey League. The “Foxes” celebrated a 4-2 win in Fehervar and temporarily climbed to fourth place in the table.
