“Azzurri” are burning for the U18 World Cup in Maribor

The “Azzurri” will prepare for the international title fights from April 7th to 11th in Vipiteno, where there will also be two test matches against Slovakia on April 8th and 9th. The U18 national team finished second behind Slovenia at a four-nation tournament in Asiago in February and came third at a four-nation tournament in November. Coach Alex Gschliesser's boys also had the upper hand 3-2 in a friendly against the DNL team Starbulls Rosenheim in December.

A year ago, the “Azzurri” were relegated from the I. Division Group A at the World Cup. In Maribor, this year they will face Lithuania, newly promoted Japan, Ukraine, Gasteber Slovenia and Austria in the title fights for the I. Division Group B.

There are a total of 18 players in the U38 national team squad for the World Cup preparations in Vipiteno - including numerous South Tyroleans. The final World Cup squad will be announced after the second friendly against Slovakia.
