Liberation strike! The HCB gets three points in Salzburg

In front of over 3000 spectators in the Salzburg ice arena, things got heated from the first minute: after just a few seconds, Generous and Angelidis had a fistfight, and just a little later Halmo and Harris got into a fight. And ice hockey? Of course that was also played. In the majority, it was Salzburg's Raymond who put his team in the lead with a precise shot. The Foxes, with Melichercik guarding the goal again, were not shocked by this and, also in the majority, equalized: Halmo with the beautiful cross pass into the middle, where Petan finished cleanly. This was the Italian-Canadian's first prank, because shortly before the break Halmo served his colleague with a fine pass, which Petan converted to make it 2-1. Here too, the HCB had one more man on the ice.

After this furious opening third, things became a little quieter in the middle section. After 25 minutes, Salzburg's Schiechl only hit the bar, after which the HCB was unable to exploit several outnumbered situations efficiently enough. In the final period, Salzburg launched the expected final offensive, but failed either due to Bozen's defense, the reliable goalie Melichercik (30 shots blocked) or their own inability. This meant that the HCB's third win of the season was a done deal. The Foxes have now left the bottom of the table.

HCB Südtirol Alperia managed to break free on the 10th EBEL matchday: The Foxes beat Salzburg 2-1 away and have thus shot themselves out of the bottom of the table.
