Bergner Bräu Cup: Bozen loses in a penalty shootout against Bregenzerwald

The EHC Bregenzerwald won the first edition of the “Bergner Bräu Cup” in the Meran Arena on Sunday. The Austrian second division team defeated Italian champions HC Bozen in the final with 3-2 goals after a penalty shootout. In the game for third place, however, the German top league team Erding Gladiators clearly prevailed against hosts Meran with 9-0 goals. Both Bolzano and Meran competed without foreigners.
