Bolzano doesn't give Dornbirn a chance in the ice wave

The HCB's most recent three defeats were unnoticeable. They set an extremely high pace from the start and really threw the Dornbirn defense into disarray. Matt Pope hit the crossbar in the first minute, providing a foretaste of what was to follow in the 7th minute. Then Nate DiCasmirro demonstrated his accuracy. He pushed the puck over the line in the follow-up to make it 1-0. Three minutes later, Jerry Pollastrone was also able to celebrate: the HCB striker directed a McMonagle shot into the net. But the turbulent opening phase had even more in store, because just moments after the 2-0 mark, Markus Gander and Matt Siddall had a wild fistfight. Just when Bolzano was about to extend its lead, the guests struck out of nowhere. When in the majority, McMonagle had the goal stolen from Chris D'Alvise, who showed no nerves in a one-on-one with Jaroslav Hübl and reduced the score to 1:2.

Everything bounces off Hübl

After a rousing first third, both teams initially slowed down in the middle period before the HCB offensive stepped on the accelerator again in the 11th minute. The disc came at high speed via Vause and Pollastrone to Pope, who used the remarkable preparatory work to make it 3-1. The DEC immediately tried to catch up again, but repeatedly failed because of the Bolzano goalie.

With the secure support between their own posts, the Foxes skilfully reeled off their program in the final third without really running the risk of giving up the victory. On the contrary: they always kept the visitors' defense on their toes with quick counterattacks. In the final minute, Sean McMonagle, who was extremely strong today, finally made everything clear with an empty net goal. Bolzano's second win of the season was sealed.

On Sunday, HC Bozen will try to confirm the upward trend in the away game in Klagenfurt.
