Bolzano signs Michele Marchetti

The younger brother of Asiago defender Stefano Marchetti grew up in the youth teams of Fassa, Alleghe and Val Gardena and made his debut in the top Italian ice hockey league in 2011/12 wearing the Fassan jersey. A year later, the beefy attacker was an integral part of the “Falcons” squad and collected 43 points in 26 games. After his strong performances, Marchetti ventured across the ocean the following season, where he hunted for goals in the NAHL for the Soo Eagles and the Brookings Blizzard. In the last two seasons, the 21-year-old international finally played for Fassa again and scored 73 times in 44 games. Last summer, Marchetti took part in some training sessions under the supervision of HCB coach Tom Pokel. Now, twelve months later, he wants to know it for good and is tackling an EBEL season for the first time. “From both a human and a sporting perspective, moving to Bolzano is a big step for me. I already know some players from the national team and now have the opportunity to start this new chapter together with them. For myself, it’s important to use my time at HCB to show everyone my qualities,” said Marchetti. When it comes to his goals for the season, the crack from Trentino is anything but modest: “We want to try to get as far as possible and, ideally, win the championship title. The team that is currently being created is very strong and consists of many good individual players. I also know about the excellent fans who will have our backs. I can already promise the spectators one thing: always come to the ice wave, because we will make sure that you take the club more and more into your hearts.”

Bolzano signs Michele Marchetti

Slowly but surely, the HCB Südtirol squad is complete: On Thursday, the Bolzano team announced the signing of ex-Fassa striker Michele Marchetti.
