Ceresa, Ebner and Waldner move from Eppan to the Ritten

As Serie A newcomers, the Eppaner Pirates caused the biggest surprise of the championship last year when they were only eliminated in the seventh, decisive game in the play-off quarter-finals against eventual champions Asiago. In 2008, the defensive man went to the Italian record champions HC Bozen, where he immediately won the title and the Italian Cup. Ceresa stayed in the valley town for three years before he announced his departure in 2011 and returned to Eppan. There he took on responsibility and was immediately made captain. With Eppan, Ceresa won two A2 championships and scored 194 points (136 goals and 35 assists) in five years and 101 championship games.

Ebner and Waldner 23 years young, but already very experienced Despite his 23 years, Fabian Ebner was already a mainstay in Eppan's backline. In his A2 debut season in 2010/11, the trained striker was called back from the attack to the defense, where he delivered consistently good performances from the start. In his 235 competitive games so far, Ebner has scored 109 points. Ebner was able to improve every year, scoring 10 goals and 19 assists in 47 games last season alone. Two years ago, thanks to the farm team regulation, he made two appearances on the Ritten and also won the championship title with the Buam. Jan Waldner is also only 23 years old. The 1,77 meter tall and 83 kg powerhouse has already competed in seven championships with Eppan. The attacker is a real defensive specialist, but still has a lot of ability to score. Last season he scored 38 points (15 goals) in 47 games for the blue and yellow. Overall, Waldner had 218 scorer points in 86 championship games for Eppan.

Ingemar Gruber's contract will not be extended However, the contract of 38-year-old Merano defender Ingemar Gruber was not extended after eleven seasons at Ritten. Gruber wants to play for his hometown club Merano in the second division for another year and then hang up his skates. Lorenz Daccordo, who was also retired from Ritten, will probably end his active career this year.
