Continental Cup: Astana gets its first ticket to the final

Nomad Astana was the clear favorite against Grenoble today and the Kazakhs lived up to their role as favorites and won easily with 4-0 goals. Roman Rachinski gave Astana a 1-0 lead shortly before the first break. After seven minutes in the middle third, Yaroslav Yevdomikov, with the advantage (Olivier Dame-Malka was in the penalty box), increased the score to 2-0 with his fourth goal of the tournament. In the 48th minute, Grenoble could have got back close after Presnov fouled Pierre-Charles Hordelalay, but the French striker was denied by Dmitri Malgin in the penalty shootout. This meant that Grenoble's resistance was finally broken. Alikhan Asetov (51.00) and Nikita Mikhailis with a double majority (55.20) then increased the final score to 4-0 with two more goals. Astana is therefore in the final, while the French are one of the big losers of this tournament after three defeats in a row and only one goal scored (out of eight goals conceded).

The last match of this semi-final promises pure excitement, at 20 p.m. between AHL and Italian champion Ritten and the Hungarian champion Jegesmedvek Miskolc. The winner of this game advances to the final with Astana.
