Thanks to the Frigo goal: Bolzano narrowly defeated Asiago 1-0

The Foxes started like a shot and literally restricted the guests in their third until the fifteenth minute. After just two minutes, Oleksuk powered his way through the opposing defense and could only be stopped by the visiting goalkeeper. The rebound went to Luca Frigo, who gave HCB Südtirol Alperia the lead with a powerful shot. As a result, Angelidis and Michele Marchetti failed with a nice individual action. It was only in the sixth minute that Melichercik was tested by Asiago for the first time and a shot from Casetti went just wide of the Bolzano goal. Otherwise, the Foxes attacked Cloutier from all sides: Monardo, Angelidis, Poulsen with a solo and Frank failed by the Asiago goalie. In the last minute of the first period, Rosa, outnumbered, dangerously crossed in front of Melichercik, but he neutralized the shot.

The motto of the middle section of the game was: HCB against Cloutier. Everything the visiting goalkeeper managed to defuse was almost magical, especially when he easily defused a close-range shot from Monardo with his catching hand. But his counterpart in the Bolzano goal was also seriously tested several times during Asiago's sporadic counterattacks. Both teams were unable to convert a power play into a goal. Monardo enchanted the audience with a technical performance of the finest as he duped several opponents one after the other. Frigo also played a masterpiece in front of Cloutier, but did not get the disc into the opponent's box. Coach Pat Curcio occasionally changed the rest of the attack lines except for the line with Schweitzer, Oleksuk and Frigo.

At the beginning of the final third, the Foxes stepped on the accelerator again, almost all of Bolzano's players attempted shots on goal, and Cloutier once again stood like a wall. In the eleventh and seventeenth minutes, Melichercik also surpassed himself and prevented the guests from scoring an equalizer with two brilliant saves, thus saving his third shutout in the third game.

The Foxes return to the ice next Tuesday. The opponents in the ice wave are the Ravensburg Towerstars at 19:45 p.m.

HCB Südtirol Alperia's third friendly match in preparation for the EBEL championship was also the first home game in the Eiswelle. 1500 spectators didn't miss the Foxes' home debut, and in the end the Talferstadt team won 1-0.
