The Blue Team gets a mandatory win against Japan - VIDEO

For the Blue Team, the fourth game in the title fights in Katowice began with an ice-cold shower. Kuji gave Frederic Cloutier the advantage in Italy's box and gave Japan the lead in the ninth minute. The Asians' joy only lasted four and a half minutes. Then Simon Kostner, after preparatory work by Luca Frigo and Armin Hofer, scored to make it 1-1 (13.20). In the 16th minute, Joachim Ramoser had to go to the penalty box for two minutes because of high sticks, but Mair's troops survived the outnumbered situation unscathed. After the first siren it remained 1:1 - despite the “Azzurri” having a significant increase in chances (17:9 shots on goal).

After the first half-time tea, Italy went one step further. And the Blue Team was rewarded for their efforts: In the 28th minute, captain Anton Bernard made it 2-1 after preparatory work by Gander and Insam, his teammates at HCB Südtirol Alperia. Just ten minutes later, Joachim Ramoser made the preliminary decision 3-1.

In the final third, the “Azzurri” cleverly defended their two-goal lead over time. The Blue Team has thus achieved its minimum goal of staying in the league ahead of schedule.
