This is the summer schedule for the five AHL clubs

The HCG and the Rittner Buam drew in a charity game last week, and two days later the Wildgänse lost to league rival Jesenice. However, these were only initial form tests before the reins are properly tightened in the preparation phase.

Vice-champion Ritten faces its first real test on Tuesday against EBEL representatives Innsbruck. Neumarkt and Val Gardena, on the other hand, are testing against the Serie B clubs Auer and Alleghe this week, while Vipiteno will play its first of six preparatory games on Saturday against the German third division team ERC Sonthofen.

The highlight of the pre-season is undoubtedly the Alperia Cup in mid-September, in which HC Bozen also takes part alongside Ritten and Pustertal. Ritten also competes in a fourth-round tournament in Bremerhaven, while Val Gardena and Vipiteno play in the Weihenstephan Cup in Wipptal against Kaufbeuren and Bad Tölz.

A total of 22 friendly games with South Tyrolean AHL participation are on the program until September 17th, when the newly founded, cross-border league will resume operations.

Summer slump? Are you kidding me? Are you serious when you say that! The South Tyrolean AHL teams are preparing for the 2016/17 season against some top-class opponents. Three teams already started last week, and more will follow in the coming days. The local ice rinks are gradually becoming busy.
