The final squad for the U20 World Cup has been announced

The 24-man team squad, which has been training together in Klobenstein since December 5th, was reduced to 22 players three days before the first World Cup game. Kostner left two attackers out of his team: the injured Michael Delueg and David Trivellato.

A year after relegation at the 2015 World Cup in Vienna, the Italian U20 team is aiming for an immediate return to the 1st Division Group A at the tournament in Hungary. However, the mission of resurgence will not be an easy undertaking: in order to get promoted, the Kostner troop must finish the tournament in Budapest in first place. In addition to Italy, Hungary, Ukraine, Slovenia, Great Britain and Poland are also taking part in the World Cup in the 1st Division Group B.

As part of the training camp in Klobenstein, the U20 team already had two test matches against Japan on the program. The “Azzurri” won once against the Asians, who are one league lower in the 2nd Division, 7-1 and were defeated 1-3 a few hours later.
