HC Bozen breaks into Villach

Bozen's coach Mario Simioni used exactly the same line composition as the previous evening in the defeat against Fehervar. Villach was the more active team in the starting third, but HCB goalie Hübl initially kept the score at zero.

The same game in the second third: VSV took the initiative, Bozen lurked and tried to become dangerous on the counterattack. Due to the current table situation, the HCB should actually have played forward with pressure. This was only the case in the 37th minute when DeSimone pushed the puck to Pance and he scored to make it 1-0. Suddenly the Foxes were in the lead.

However, this only lasted until the beginning of the final period before McBride caught the South Tyroleans off guard for the first time and made it 1-1. The guests' defense, which had been so convincing until then, was now faltering. Within a few minutes, Haydar, Pewal and Nageler hit the mark three times. Bolzano had nothing to counter towards the end of the game. The second defeat within two days was thus sealed. While moving into the Master Round becomes more and more distant, there is a growing realization that the HCB urgently needs to take action in order not to lose further ground in the table.
