HC Bozen attacks Dreikönig for the top of the table

The highlight of the 35th round of the championship will undoubtedly be in the ice wave, where the two local rivals Bozen and Ritten meet. Both teams warmed up for the direct duel with two wins on Friday. With another “threesome”, the HCB even has the chance to push HC Pustertal off the top of the table. In the previous season's game between the two opponents, McCutcheon's troops had the upper hand twice, most recently winning 2-1 after extra time in Klobenstein. It will be interesting to see how HC Bozen copes with the departure of the outstanding Swede Niklas Hjalmarsson. He left the champions after the away win in Asiago and is expected to be back in the NHL (if it starts) or the Russian KHL shortly. The HCB coach also has to do without Christian Walcher against Ritten. Visiting coach Rob Wilson, however, is not available for defender Markus Hafner.

Fiat Professional Wolves – Val di Fassa Ferrarini Two game days before the end of the regular season, HC Pustertal's points cushion has melted to a measly point. In order to maintain their lead in the table until the last round, the Wolves urgently need points in the home game against Fassa. This undertaking seems entirely feasible, even though the Ladins ended their eight-game lack of success with a win in the basement duel against Pontebba last matchday. There is a big question mark among the Pusterers about the use of regular goalie Jean Sebastien Aubin, who suffered a minor muscle injury on Friday. Only immediately before the start of the game will it become clear whether the two strikers Ben Guitè and Joe Cullen are fit to play. Fassa coach Miroslav Frycer can take full advantage.

Alleghe Tegola Canadese – Valpellice Bodino Engineering The second cracker of the match day takes place in the venerable De Toni Stadium in Alleghe, where the home team asks Valpellice to dance. Milan coach Adolf Insam has to make do without Diego Iori again, while former Milanese Michele Strazzabosco is back in action at Asiago.

Aquile FVG Pontebba – Hafro Cortina Pontebba and Cortina go into the basement duel with different signs: While Pontebba clearly lost to their table neighbors Fassa and remains lonely in last place, Cortina was able to move further away from the bottom of the table with a convincing win against Milan. Both teams will compete on Saturday with their best players and will hopefully ensure a thrilling duel.
