HC Bozen wants to be at the forefront

Bolzano's mayor, Luigi Spagnolli, was invited as the guest of honor at the press conference, wishing the club, players and fans a successful season: “I hope that the traditional team presentation at the Palais Campofranco will also bring good luck this season. Afterwards, managing director Dieter Knoll took the floor. He pointed to the turbulent summer months in which “the club management made important decisions and came to the decision to ensure the continued existence of ice hockey in the state capital with a budget reduction and a new, rejuvenated direction.” Knoll showed himself from the previous ones New arrivals convinced: “Markus Gander will form a powerful line with Bernard and Insam, and Gilmozzi and Wunderer will also be given the opportunity to prove themselves in Serie A.”

Pergine will also act as HC Bozen's farm team this season. “Five of our youth players will play in Trentino next season, and others will play at EV Bozen 84. They will gain match practice in the second division and specifically promote their development,” explained Knoll.

Two more new additions However, the HCB managing director made no secret of the fact that the current squad still needs to be strengthened: “We will bring in another goalkeeper and a defender who will finally complete the squad. The club management has also clearly defined the goals for the season. “It seems premature to me to talk about winning the championship. In any case, we want to reach the semi-finals and also make it to the final round of the Continental Cup in front of our home crowd. The first title is at stake in Cortina on Tuesday with the Supercup. “This is our primary goal,” says Knoll, giving the direction of travel.

The team presentation at the Palais Campofranco was also used to officially launch the start of subscription sales. “Season tickets will be available from Tuesday. They cost 90 euros and include all regular season games. We hope to be able to welcome several thousand fans to the home games.” Subscriptions are available at the club headquarters in the Eiswelle every day from 14 p.m. to 19 p.m.
