Schiechl and Trattnig increased to 4:1 after two fatal misses from Seymour and Vallerand, respectively, and then Cijan and Heinrich (through Melichercik's suspenders) even made it half a dozen. After conceding the sixth goal, Melichercik's working day was over: the Slovakian goalkeeper gave up his place for substitute goalie Jacob Smith. But Salzburg were still not satisfied with 7:1: eight minutes before the final siren, Trattnig scored his personal double and made it 8:1. The Bulls captain's goal was ultimately the last of the evening - after 60 one-sided minutes it was 1:8 from Bozen's perspective. This sealed the heaviest HCB defeat in the current championship.
