The HCB doesn't stop at the record champions either

In the fourth game within seven days, the HCB initially showed no signs of fatigue and immediately stepped on the accelerator. After just 23 seconds, the puck hit the visitors' goal for the first time: After a Metropolit shot, Marc-Olivier-Vallerand was there and gave former HCB goalie Tomas Duba the disadvantage. The white-red offense continued to confuse the opposing defense again and again. This was also the case in the 13th minute, when Glen Metropolit set up an exemplary power play for Vallerand, who made it 2-0 with his sixth goal of the season, his second of the evening. The Carinthians could hardly get their feet on the ground at this point and were still well served with a two-goal deficit at the first break.

The KAC is not giving up

In the second half of the game, the Foxes let things slide a bit, but were never really in danger of losing control. On the contrary: Halfway through the game, Markus Gander ended a period of pressure from the home side with a shot from the slot to make it 3-0. Many of the 2.200 spectators in the ice wave probably believed that they had just celebrated the preliminary decision. But that wasn't the case, because afterwards the KAC became significantly stronger. Before the second third siren, the Red Jackets reduced the score to 2:3 with two fortunate goals. First it was Matt Neal who netted from a poke, then Marco Richter deflected a Vallant shot into the net. In return, Vallerand put the puck on the crossbar from a promising position. Suddenly there was real tension in the game again.

Melichercik doesn't let anything go wrong

Bolzano could have smothered the guests' hope at the beginning of the final third, but let a two-minute double power play go to waste. A duel then developed that was fueled by a lot of commitment and fighting on both sides. The few highlights were mostly provided by Metropolit, who showcased his fellow players with showpieces. However, chances to score were in short supply. This was fine with Pokel's protégés, as they managed their narrow lead with great skill until the end. The third win in a row was thus secured.

The Italian record champion has shown his Austrian counterpart the limits: HCB Südtirol Alperia defeated Klagenfurt AC in the ice wave 3-2. With this convincing victory, the White-Reds consolidated fourth place in the table.
