The HCB presents its new goalie

The 27-year-old Czech Jakub Sedlacek will be in charge of the Bolzano team in Friday's match against Salzburg. “By signing this goalie with great international experience and good references, the white and red club has achieved a major coup after days of exploring the player market,” the Foxes wrote in a press release. Sedlacek is expected to replace starting goalkeeper Climie, who has a knee injury, for the next two months.

The goalkeeper (175cm x 78kg) started his career in Zlin in the Czech Republic, where he attracted attention in the youth teams and then became the first goalie in the Extraliga. The 2009/10 season was his first as a regular goalkeeper, where he had a catch rate of 92,7% in the regular season and was also the goalie with the most wins (31). He played in Zlin with great success until 2013 and also made a few appearances for the national team (he achieved 94,5% in two games). His successes then enabled him to make the jump to the well-known KHL with Dinamo Riga: he stayed in the Latvian capital for four seasons, playing 126 games and one playoff with a catch rate between 91% and 93,8%. At the beginning of the current season he returned to the Czech Republic, this time to HK Hradec Kralove, and took part in the Champions Hockey League. From Wednesday, Sedlacek will be the new goalkeeper for HCB Südtirol Alperia.
