HCB Südtirol is placing a mortgage on the playoffs

Thomas Koch's 600th game for the KAC, or game one for Luca Franza in the Foxes' dress, started very quickly. The second period began immediately with a good chance for Gander, but Tuokkola stood out. Just two minutes later, Galvins tried a hammer shot, but the puck went just wide. The Foxes combined well, but the defending champions lacked any brilliant ideas in the end.

As the second third continued, the Red Jackets became stronger and stronger. First, Hübl was able to defuse a shot from Lundmark (28th), but after half an hour the guests increased the lead to 3-1. Vallant's blueliner allowed Hübl to bounce forward and Pöck didn't miss this opportunity.

After that, the game flattened out a bit, and even one outnumbered situation passed without any effects. It wasn't until three minutes before the end of the middle third that Pither tried a long-range shot, but the puck ended up in Hübl's catching hand. On the other side, Gander did better, reducing the score to 39:2 in the 3th minute. His pass was deflected in such a way that Tuokkola couldn't stop it. But things got even better for the Foxes. Because 41 seconds before the second siren, Ziga Pance equalized with a remarkable backhand shot. The duel between the record champions is now completely open again, the ice wave was like a madhouse.

The final third began with a situation in which the guests had a majority, but the White-Reds survived unscathed. In the 48th minute, Marco Insam achieved something new in this encounter: he put the home team in front for the first time. Rodney rounded the Klagenfurt goal and passed to Marco Insam, who scored with a one-timer from the blue line. Pöck immediately tried from a distance, but Hübl could not be overcome.

Bolzano manages its lead cleverly

Afterwards, Captain Egger had to leave the ice because he tripped. Being outnumbered, the Foxes were closer to scoring their fifth goal than the guests were to equalizing. For example, Tuokkola had to use all his skills in a duel with Keller. Keller could have made the decision two minutes before the end when he appeared alone in front of the Klagenfurt goalie after a dream pass from Bernard. But Tuokkola remained the winner.

In the final phase, the guests made a mistake in substitution and had to play with one man less for the last two minutes. Klagenfurt took its goalie out of the box and put everything on one card, but the guests scored the goal in the last second with Phil DeSimone.
