The White-Reds tried to put their stamp on the game. But the home team never really got going, as they showed major weaknesses in the power play and only managed to score once even with two more men. However, Gander missed this opportunity. Znojmo, on the other hand, played very well and struck coldly at the first opportunity. When Lee was in the penalty box, just 24 seconds had been played when Pavel Rosa scored (9.22).

Schofield equalizes

Bolzano immediately reacted and equalized. This time the Foxes took advantage of a numerical advantage when Nesbitt served Schofield perfectly and Schofield had no trouble getting the puck into the Czech visitors' box. However, the home side's attacking efforts were predictable, the game build-up was far too slow and therefore Znojmo had no trouble keeping the EBEL champions in check. Nevertheless, the Bolzano team had two opportunities with Cullen and Nesbitt, but the puck didn't want to go into the opponent's goal. In the final phase of the second half of the game, Egger and Zanette also tried it - without success.

Znojmo hardened

In the final third Znojmo even scored the third goal, again in the power play. This time Roman Tomas was there (44th). But Bozen didn't give up and scored the next goal in the 48th minute. Paul Zanette gave Nechvatal the disadvantage.

In the final phase, the Foxes were able to operate with two more men for 1.44:46 minutes, but they were unable to score an equalizer. Removing goalie Jaroslav Hübl didn't help either - on the contrary: Adam Havlik made it 4-2 into an empty net XNUMX seconds before the end.
