The HCB Südtirol had to narrowly admit defeat to Fehervar

After just 17 seconds, the Foxes and with them the fans were able to cheer in the ice wave. Nesbitt got to the target, went around Robinson and slotted in to make it 1-0. Shortly afterwards, Keller could have made it 2-0 after an Orban bad pass, but this time the visiting goalie was in the picture. Fehervar then had his first opportunity, but Hübl was at his post when Vincze finished.

But then again the white and red, who forgave within a minute with Zisser and Cullen. As a result, the game became flat and Fehervar made a lot of mistakes in building up the game. Shortly before the siren, Lovecchio and Crowley's fuses blew and they got into a fight. Neither was able to prevail in the fight, but both were allowed to take a five-minute break at the beginning of the second third.

The second period began with a good chance for De Simone, who failed to put the puck in the visitors' box. After that, very little happened for a long time. Only after half an hour did the home team become dangerous again - and how: Cullen saw Rodney, who stayed cool in front of Robinson and scored to make it 2-0. Less than 60 seconds later, Robinson was lucky when the puck hit the post after a shot.

Three post crackers from the Foxes

In the 38th minute, more than 1800 fans saw the Hungarians score the next goal when Benk fed Nemeth, who was standing in front of the goal, and he gave Hübl the advantage. This goal gave the guests hope.

Hope that Rodney nipped in the bud with a 3-1 power play in the final third. He got to the puck at the blue line, then danced past one of Fehervar's defenders and gave Robinson the loss for the third time. But the Foxes' joy only lasted a short time: In the 45th minute, the Hungarians hit back with Sikorcin and reduced the deficit again after a hair-raising mistake in the build-up to the game.

Afterwards the hosts seemed unsettled, Fehervar came very close to the equalizer several times. But the Talferstadt team also survived an outnumbered situation unscathed when Insam had to go to the penalty box for a knee check (50th). Shortly afterwards, Ejdepalm had to go into the cooler, but the HCB couldn't capitalize on it.

Banham shoots Fehervar in extra time

Towards the end of the game the Foxes got stronger again. Insam could have made the difference in the 56th minute, but he only hit the post. Or was it a hit? The HCB demands video evidence, but the referees refuse. And just a minute later, Bozen was unlucky again when Galvins failed again, not because of Robinson, but again because of the edge of the goal.

67 seconds before the end, Fehervar took his goalie off the ice for a sixth player. After 59.38 minutes, Brian Rodney had to go into the cooler. The guests took advantage of this because eight seconds before the end Frank Banham scored the 3-3.

The extra time ended goalless before Andrew Sarauer brought about the decision in the Hungarian club's favor in the penalty shootout. For Fehervar it was the fourth win in a row.

An unlucky HCB Südtirol lost 3-4 after a penalty shootout against SAPA Fehervar on Friday evening. They were unlucky because the White-Reds had three hits against the post - two of them in the last four minutes of the game.
