HCB Südtirol is in the pick round

In the Bolzano ice wave, coach Tom Pokel, who had to do without Taylor Vause, who injured his finger, saw a very open initial phase. The game went back and forth, but there were no top scoring opportunities. Flemming and Foster set the first tone for the white-red team, but failed, as did Bodo and Martinelli on the other side. Fehervar equalizes – Insam answers In the middle period the Foxes had a few chances to make it 2-0, but Saviano and Palmieri with a double shot missed the best chances. So it happened as it had to happen and Fehervar equalized with a counterattack that was completed by Nagy. The HCB did not allow itself to be thrown off course by the equalizer and continued to seek salvation on the offensive. Only three minutes after the 1:1, the people of Bolzano were rewarded: Insam scored a solo effort to make it 2:1. Anyone who thought that Egger and Co. would now rest on their lead was mistaken. The White-Reds played happily forward, but the only problem was converting their chances. The eye-catching Insam could have scored a brace shortly before the end of the third, but was denied twice by Rajna. The second third ended with 2:1.

Bolzano is one second away from victory The HCB was also the dominant team in the last 20 minutes. At first Palmieri had the decision on the bat, but he missed, as did Flemming. Even in four full minutes with one more man on the ice, the Bolzano team couldn't make it 3-1, so the guests stayed in the game until the end. When everyone expected the Foxes to win narrowly, Fehervar struck again and saved himself into extra time at the last second. The Hungarians had the better end there and scored the 63-3 winning goal through Manavian in the 2rd minute. For the Pokel squad, the last-minute blackout is bitter despite reaching the top six, as with a win they would have moved past the Vienna Capitals and thus started the pick round with a bonus point.
