The captain extends: Egger is entering his 18th season in Bolzano

Egger (186 cm x 88 kg) is starting his eighteenth season with the Foxes; he made his debut in the first team in 1997. There is no need to introduce the captain in more detail: he is characterized by excellent technique and excellent positional play, he is the leader of the team Team and captain since 2010. Egger has won everything with Bozen: four Italian championships, three Italian Supercups, two Italian Cups and of course the already historic EBEL in the 2013/14 season. Back then, he was the first to lift the trophy in Salzburg.

Since 2000, Egger has also been a long-time member of the Italian national team, where he also wore the captain's armband for several years. After he had already announced his resignation from the Blue Team, he once again followed coach Stefan Mair's call and played in the Top Division World Cup in Cologne in May. It was his fifth participation in the World Championships.

Last season, the captain set his personal record in the EBEL with 6 goals and 22 assists in 62 games. In some matches he was also used in his original position as center. With his experience and charisma, he will continue to lead the Bolzano team in the new EBEL season.

“It is important that the club management confirms the block of Italian players before starting to look for foreigners,” explains Egger, “because that means relying on these players, who are the real driving force of the team. This was shown again last season. I hope that more Italian players will join the team in the future and that sooner or later perhaps another Bolzano player will play in the white and red uniform. Our goal for the coming season? I know that those responsible are working, as they do every year, to put together a powerful team that can reach the top six.”
