The “Wild Geese” summer timetable is set

In the past few weeks, the “Wild Geese” have been working intensively on the training program for the 2017/2018 season. For the management team and head coach Martin Ekrt, it was particularly important to find a balance between the challenges. The official starting signal for the new season was given on Monday when Ekrt asked his boys for their first joint practice session on the ice at the Würtarena.

After two weeks of intensive training, the action begins in quick succession from August 22nd: The start is a home game against league rivals Zell am See. On August 25th and 26th, the wild geese will compete in the 4-nation tournament in Kapfenberg. In the semi-finals it will be against the local AHL competitor, the next day either Slovenia's representative Jesenice or the Slovakian second division team Trnava will be waiting as opponents.

The “second leg” against the Zeller Eisbären will take place in Salzburger Land on August 29th, before the two form tests against Serie B league team HC Eppan and AHL club Fassa take place in the Würtarena at the beginning of September. The Trentino team will also be the opponents at the dress rehearsal for the start of the league, when Alex Sullmann and Co. meet in Canazei on September 6th - exactly a week before the first championship game.
