The AHL is entering the hot phase

The first six teams of the regular season play a return round in the “Master Round” and fight for the best places in the play-offs. As in the EBEL, the teams receive bonus points depending on their placement in the basic round. Leader Ritten starts with six points, HC Pustertal already has four points. The only two South Tyrolean teams in the Master Round start the action on Wednesday: Ritten meets Feldkirch, Pustertal is in action against Asiago and wants to take revenge for the semi-final defeat in the Final Four.

Neumarkt, Val Gardena and Vipiteno dream of the play-offs The remaining ten teams were divided into two qualifying groups, with only the two winners securing a highly sought-after ticket for the fifth season.

Three South Tyrolean teams have their sights on the play-offs. Val Gardena is in the A circle with two bonus points, four points behind Cortina, which starts with six points. In the B district, Neumarkt has the best starting position: the Unterlanders are in second place with four bonus points and only have one point less than the “front runner” Zell am See. Vipiteno has a more difficult draw with just one bonus point.

Val Gardena wants to take advantage of the opportunity on the first matchday of the second round to climb to second place with a win against Salzburg. Neumarkt, meanwhile, would like to launch an attack on first place with a win against Kitzbühel. Vipiteno will take a break on the first matchday.

The AHL is entering the hot phase

The basic round is history, the Italian championship title has already been awarded - so it's about time for the hot phase of the championship. The intermediate rounds in the Sky Alps Hockey League begin on Wednesday.
