The AHL clubs have chosen: Italian duels in the quarterfinals

With the first pick, the Rittner Buam chose HC Neumarkt Riwega as their quarterfinal opponent. The second-placed team, HC Pustertal, chose Cortina Hafro. Asiago Hockey picked VEU Feldkirch from the two remaining Austrian teams. There was no longer a choice for Jesenice, they play against Lustenau for a semi-final ticket. The quarterfinals will be played in a best-of-five format and begin next Wednesday.

Rittner Buam – HC Neumarkt Riwega

The winner of the first and second phase of the basic round chose HC Neumarkt with the first pick Last Second Winner of Qualification Round B . The two South Tyrolean local rivals have already met twice, both times Ritten prevailed - but once only in a shoot-out. Ritten is not only the team with the most wins in the regular season, they also scored the most goals. But Neumarkt played a great qualifying round and with Linus Lundström one of the best scorers in the league is wearing the Wildgänse uniform.

HC Pustertal – SG Cortina Hafro

Pustertal took second place on the last day of the intermediate round. The Wolves chose Cortina, the winner of Qualification Round A. Pustertal won both duels in the season, but Cortina dominated Qualification Round A and was able to secure the playoffs early.

Migross Asiago Hockey – FBI VEU Feldkirch

Asiago lost the last game of the intermediate round and thus took second place. In third place they chose the VEU Feldkirch. The two teams have already played four duels, two in the Master Round and two in the first phase. Asiago prevailed in all meetings. In this series there will be a duel between the two best scorers in the league. Dylan Stanley from Feldkich calls for Anthony Nigro.

HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice – EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau

Jesenice no longer had a choice and plays against Lustenau. They didn't have the best experiences with Vorarlberg this season, as they lost three of four duels. A tough quarter-final fight is inevitable.

On Sunday morning, the decision-makers of the Sky Alps Hockey League announced the playoff pairings. This resulted in interesting match pairings - including a purely South Tyrolean duel.
