The “Azzurri” won the bronze medal at the U18 World Cup

In the final, the Danes beat Norway 6-3 thanks to a great comeback in the final third and thus secured promotion to the elite of international junior ice hockey.

Third place went to the Italian local heroes, for whom a point against France was enough to secure bronze. Coach Robert Chizzali's team, who had led Auer to the Serie C title just a few weeks ago, lost to the French 3-4 after a penalty shootout. The three goals for the “Azzurri” were scored by the South Tyroleans Lambacher, Ramoser and Lancsar. They erased a 0-3 deficit and forced both teams into overtime. The Frenchman Montenoise-Oudot and Italy's captain Morini were chosen as the best players of the match. A total of eleven South Tyroleans were in the “Azzurri” U18 team.

On the final day, the best players of the World Cup were also honored. The best “Azzurro” was goalkeeper Daniel Morandell. The Dane Georg Sorensen was awarded as the best goalkeeper of the World Cup, the Norwegian Andreas Klavestad as the best defender and his compatriot Markus Soberg as the best striker.
